Hanney Festival 24th of July @ The Reading Rooms

Hanney are a 7 piece experimental band from Dundee in Scotland. Creatively their sound is constantly changing and evolving and is very difficult to pigeon hole into any specific genre, as the band take an open minded approach towards the writing of their music. This, combined with the varied musical tastes and influences within the band, makes for an interesting blend of styles, as each member contribute's to the creative process. Over the years Hanney have built up a loyal fan base in their native city and are well renound for putting on their own events, the most prominent being the Hanney Festival's in 2008 and 2009 and Glow Party's in 2007 and 2009, all of which were sell out gigs in Dundee's most established live music venue, the Doghouse. On stage Hanney have an infectious energy and often create a euphoric atmosphere for their like minded fans to immerse themselves in. With an ever evolving live show, which has included a belly dancer ,costumes, lightshow's, and special guests, each performance is unique. Hanney are currently writing new material but are also hoping to record and release an EP by summer 2010, which should hopefully be followed by an album before the turn of the year. As well as that they are in the early stages of organising their third Hanney Festival, which will again include a vast and diverse range of mostly local performers.
