East London Duo The Project Club have supplied us with their "Talking Utter Balearics" DJ set from their recent "live" Gig at Folk, West Didsbury. Manchester.
The Project Club consist of London DJ/Promoter Steve Lee and full time musician/engineer Andy Black. They first released "INTRO" on the cult collectors label - Is It Balearic? Recordings in September 2009 and this year is set to be an even bigger year with more releases and remixes coming out on Is It Balearic? Needwant and Under the Shade. They're currently busy in the studio working towards their first album focusing on synth driven electronic melodies and lush guitars.
The Project Club celebrated their first birthday this week and decided to do a special one-off gig at FOLK in West Didsbury. The boys performed five of their current tracks to a full capacity crowd under the knowledgeable eyes and ears of The Acid Tree's Nick & Justin, Manchester Legend Balearic Mike and his partner in crime Jan Hammered. With future live dates to follow in London, Sweden and across Europe - this was just the start of their summer road trip on the live circuit.
You can buy their digital releases here: http://www.junodownload.com/artists/The+Project+Club/releases and their vinyl from all good independant record stores.
